A Recipe for a Refreshingly Green Shake

It’s safe to assume that for those who love dough, sweets, salt and everything that’s not nutritional – this information won’t make much of a difference. They will continue with their dangerously unhealthy lifestyles. However, for those who are interested in improving their quality of life, they may be pleased to know that there is something they can do.

The tip that we want to recommend this time is a green shake. A shake made of all the green vegetables with an added seasonal fruit of your choice. Drinking one cup of this green shake provides the body with adequate amounts of vitamins, minerals, fibers, and antioxidants essential in preserving our health. The low caloric value of this shake makes it high in nutritional value, and thanks to its fiber content it helps with the smooth functioning of the digestive tract, which usually manifests itself in a feeling of regularity in bowel movements. 

So what should you include in your healthy shake? Firstly – leaves. All the leaves you are familiar with should be included – cilantro, parsley, chives, roquette, chard, dill, spinach, lettuce, baby leaves, mint, basil, celery and more.

Sound good? That’s not all: You may also add a fruit of your choice, such as: dates, bananas, melon, peaches and more. However, if you’re trying to lose weight it’s important to note that fruits are rich in sugar, therefore, you should limit the amount to only 2 fruits because ultimately, the goal is to improve your health, right?

In addition, you may add one spoon of tahini, almonds or any healthy fat that you like into this refreshing mixture. It’s important to note that a healthy fat helps improve digestion, so not only does it enhance the flavor, it is also essential for good health.

Here is the recipe for this healthy green shake that will turn your summer into a healthy one!

Ingredients:

2 ripe bananas

3-4 leaves of lettuce

2 stems of parsley

2 stems of cilantro

1 tablespoon of Goji berry

mint leaves

1 cup of water

1 spoon of almonds

Preparation:

Blend all the ingredients together in a food processor, add cubes of ice and serve cold. To your health!
