Question

Question:
I am getting married this week Bez”H.  By Leil HaSeder I will be by my future in-laws who always have e a large Seder with many guests. Do we say Sheva Brachot by the Seder?

Answer

Answer:
According to R’ Ovadia Yosef there is no Sheva Brachot except in the house of the Chatan and the Kallah. However, one may say Asher Bara, however many Poskim argue that one may say Sheva Brachot anywhere. So, if ther are at least two guests who were did not attend the Chatunah then after Barech you say Sheva Brachot.

Explanation:
Mishna Pesachim 117a: Pour the third cup of wine and say Birkat Hamazon. Fi the fourth cup and say Hallel on it and say Birkat Hashir between these cups. (Rashi between the first and the last cups). If you want you may drink in-between the first and last cups.
The Yerushalmi asks (Pesachim 10:6) asks why is it forbidden to drink between cups? So you should not get drunk. But you already drank between the last two cups? Wine drunk after the meal makes you drunk but wine during the meal doesn’t.

The Rashbam (Pesachim 108a) first quotes the Yerushalmi and then adds that one may not drink in between because it looks like you are adding to the Four cups. In between first and second or second nad third that you did not eat, it looks like you are drinking wine to crate an appetite, not adding cups.
The Prisha says the prohibition to add to the four cups is since they correspond to the our words of Geulah ( in parshat Vaerea)if you add another cup it doesn’t correspond any more.
Shu”t Revevot Ephraim(2:129-18) anyone who drinks after the third cup transgresses Bal Tosef.
Tosfot  writes the reason one may not drink after the fourth cup is to not dilute the taste of the Afikomen.
Shulchan Aruch (479) writes: …fill the third cup and say Birkat Hamazon on it and Borei Pri Hagefen and drink leaning and say a bracha acharona and don’t drink in between it and the fourth cup.
The Mishna Berura quotes the reasoning of the Rashbam and the Yerushalmi. In 481 he mentioned the reason of Tosfot as well.
The difference between them are
  1. According to the Yerushalmi only alcoholic drinks would be forbidden but other drinks are fine. But according to the Rashbam the you can’t add to the cups and Tosfot it would be forbidden to drink other things since it might ruin the taste of the matzah.
  2. According to the Yerushalmi and the Rashbam it owud be permitted to drink even alcoholic drinks ahic are not Chamar Medinak= would be permitted snc eyo can’t be yotzeh Kos shel mitzvah with it oweve according to the Tosfot it iwl stil ak away the taste.
The quesoitn is hwo many cups do we ned to drink by Shva Brachot?
Tosfot Pesachim 102b -she’ein on the sugya of Pres mapah Umekadesh, that one wh eats a seudah on Erev Shabbat an d it cotinues into shabat hemakes Kiddush and Birkat Hamzon on two diffent Kosot since we dotn do Mitzvot Chavilot Chavilot, in packages but we do eeach one separately.  The coment:Some say therefore by a hupah e don’t say Briakt Hamzon and Sheva archot on the same Kos but we use two.

Rabbeinu Meshilam says we should say it all on one Kos sine it is difent thean kiddush and Brikat hamzon which are tow ocmpetley difetn things, here it isone thing since Birkat hamzon give us the ability to ay Sheva Brachot.
Tosfot adds they are two diffenthings sine soe only do Birkat Eirusin in the “Beit Eirusin” and Bikat Nesuein in Beit Nesinn and sicn e they re tow diffetn things we se two different cups.
Shulchan Aruch EH 62:9: some say not to say Sheva Brachot on the cp of Birkat Hamzon but he shod bring a another cup and say Sheva Brachoton it and thentake ht cup of Birkat Hamzon and say Borei Pri Hagefen. Som say you can say both on the same cup and so is the Minhag.
The Rema sasy in our countries we flow the first oin.
Wo when on e says Birkat Hamzon ans Sheva Brachot you use two cups so ruled R’ Ovadiah Yosef tha that is the custom.

Shva Brachot by Lel Hseer whether you hsod use two Kosot, menign Kos Shslishi whcihsi the cujp of Birkat hmaozon and and extra cup for Birkat Chatanim and to drik n that one after the third cup, is this permitted. Wesid before thatis forbiddneo drink and extra cup between the third and dourth cup?
Even thog yes maybe there is asloutn acroding to one onon oneamy drink grape jusice since it is not alcoholic but acroding tohe ohe roins it is forbidden.

Shut Chai Sha’al (74) wrtis even thogh we custamirly use two cups for Shva Brachot one for Birkat Hamzonand oen for Shva Brachot on Lel Hasedr we should only sue one cup.
The Yaavetz wteis hat it is better to use one cup otherwise one might save the cup of Shva Brachot for the foruth cup, but don’t drink and extra cup.
Birchot Hamyim wtei that one may use tow cups oen of the poepel bythe seudah shod say all Shea Brachot on is his cup and the eMezamen shod say Hagefen on his.

The Darkei Moshe writes that oen should say Birkat Hamazonon sh vcup and sheva rbrachot to he cup of the Chatan.
It seems thyeei adieagreemtna on whc cup to say Sehva Brachot.
R’ Moshe Feinstien in Igrot Msohe (OH95) ways they do otn disagree just the Darkei Msohe sys we sholsd say othe cup ofhte Chatan sicn eth ecusotmis the chatna drinks the wine of Shava Brachto and since each one on Lel Hsheder drinks ofmr his own cup it is just easier but one may sue another one’s cup.
R’ Ovadiah Yosef says it is beter to go liekthe Chaim Shal and use on cup  howve if one one want s hemay do tow cups and ehsodl be the Chatan’s

Tehr are few lat isues to be suer one shld say Sehva Brachot at all.
The Shulchan Aruch EH 62:7 wrtis that if there people who wernt bythe Seduat Nesueim eve thoghg thye ewre by theChppah are clald Panim Chadashot.  Sic ether are mahny gurst swho weren’t at the wedding  one amy say Sheva Brachot. R’ Ovashiah held you need two new poepel.
Tehh is machloket between R’ Ovadh Ysoef and R msohe Levi whether we ned the Beit Hachatan R’ oavdiah is stirngt but R’ Levi is lenient.  However R’ Ovidah sitl rwuieres Asehr Bara.
