Just now: Two police cars and Shomrim flying though Coney Island chase down and stop a B68 bus on Ave M. A Jewish woman is said to have been assaulted while reading a prayer book, her face was reported to be cut and bleeding. But that's not the whole story, it seems she actually got assaulted on the subway at Newkirk Ave station, and a HERO by the name of Ahmed Khalifa, CHASED HER ATTACKER DOWN all the way to Coney Island, got on the B68 with him, and called for the cops. On behalf of Jews everywhere, thank you Ahmed, you're an inspiration to those of our faith, those of your Muslim faith, and to good people everywhere. Please share (something I never say)
Chaggai Weiser who witnessed what happened told Only Simchas News what he saw:
Ahmed and the Orthodox Jewish lady were seated across from each other on the Q train. Out of nowhere a man ran by and struck the woman very hard. Ahmed chased the attacker down all the way to Coney Islandand called the Police arrested the attacker. When Chaggai left, the attacker was in a back of a police car, banging on it violently.
In an interview with Only Simchas News Ahmed said:
“I was on the Q train sitting across from the victim. And the perp(etrator) just came out of nowhere and hit the poor Jewish lady in the face hard enough that she was bleeding. An incident like this has happened before, so I just sprang and started chasing him after I made sure she was OK. And at the same time I called the police and with the help of the Jewish volunteers (Shomrim) that help try to stop people like him, we were able to stop the bus and I yelled at him and he felt like a coward and tried to hide. He was very aggressive, when the police placed him in the squad car; he kicked the door so hard that it broke.”
When asked about the assailants motivation Ahmed answered, “to be honest I don’t really know, he seemed like a normal guy but he didn’t act like it.
Ahmed, who does not consider himself a hero said, “ I just want people to know that no matter what race, religion, belief, etc. you are I think of everyone as equal and I’ll do anything to make sure people know that. “
On his Facebook page in response to compliments Ahmed wrote: “Lol it’s not that big of a deal. It’s something everyone should do. Thanks!
Only Simchas News reports that this was not the first time Ahmed stepped into action. Ahmed, recently saved a homeless man who was about to commit suicide by jumping off a train. This is just another day in the life of Ahmed Khalifa.
