Baptism and Idolatrous Remedies

14.12.17

Question

A Jewish woman that was baptized does she need to be 'purified' from it? She is sick in the hospital and the family keeps bringing her things blessed by the priest to help her get better. Do these remedies sully her soul or is it just foolishness? Can I wish someone a happy holiday on his Christian holiday?

Answer

There definitely are powers of impuitiry in the world and chasing after spiritual remedies of a priest will bring unrest to the soul. As for her baptism she should go to a mikvah to purify from it (but regardless she is still Jewish)
You should not wish a Christian a happy holiday on his Christian holiday but you can on a neutral national holiday like Thanksgiving Day.
