Cohen to marry a convert

10.03.19

Question

Hello. Can a cohen marry a woman whos grandfathers was not jewish?

Answer

To the Questioner,

If both the woman's parents are converts, a cohen may not marry her. Even if she is the daughter of a daughter from such a marriage, a cohen may not marry her.
If one of her parents is a born Jew/Jewess, rather than both parents being converts, then he may.
