Is Saying Good Shabbat enough to Fulfill the Torah Mitzva of Kiddush?
Rabbi, I came to learn in Israel and at Yeshiva we had an argument about the Kiddush Friday night, and some of the really big learners were saying that the mitzva of Kiddush today is only D’Rabbanon since we say beforehand “Good Shabbat” and I was arguing that I know for sure Kiddush is a mitzva from the Torah because my father was careful all the years to use only the big becher Friday night and never the smaller ones that he uses during the day, and he said the reason was because you need “ shiur d’oraissa ”. So maybe you could help me explain to these chevra what’s really right?

Watch: Tiger and Goat Form Unique Bond
This goat was given to the tiger as live food, though they ended up being best friends. Could this be a fulfillment of the Prophecy “A wolf shall live with a lamb”? (Isaiah – Chapter 11 Verse 6)
I hear peogle from all walks of life both on and off the Internet objetting to see outside of marriage. The only difference to my mind is that in order to give a child some sort of life, in addition to love you need to be able to afford to raise a family. There are degrees of economical circumstances; that said love can and needs to be expressed carnally. whether married or not. Anything else is tyrannical. Most females will not enter a hopeless relationship. Why should they?
Newly observent and no Rabbi
My wife and grown boys and I have become observant. Both my wife and I grew up in very secular homes. Our parents did not know anything about Judaism. and subsequently neither did we. We started learning what we could from websites like Aish and Chabad. Our jury thus far has been very rewording and life changing. We have Shabbas weekly, celebrate every holiday, and give to Jewish charities. My boys and i wear tzitzit and kippot. We all have Torah study partners via phone. The problem is, we live in a very rural part of Oregon. The closest Orthodox Synagogue is a 2.5 hr drive over mountain passes. this leaves us with no Rabbi or community. to turn to for advice and support. It would be very difficult to move at this point so we could be part of the Orthodox community. Is it ok for us to have a long distant Rabbi? Are we required to move? Can we live here and still live an orthodox live? Thank you for your help
What is the meaning of animal sacrifices in Deuteronomy. Why reinstitute these instructions now, when the 3rd Temple is not yet built. It seems cruel and unnecessary in the modern age.
