Is the Rebbe from Lubavitch the Moshiach?
I am a bachur from yeshivat Hesder who is now on a trip in Vietnam. I was just sitting in the Beit Chabad and after learning Gemara and Halacha from the Rav, I discussed with him whether the Lubavitcher Rebbe z”l is the Mashiach or not. The list of proofs in the affirmative is long, and I didn’t give the Rav an easy time… I was arguing with him, but in the end I feel I have received my answer. I will list the proofs in short, and then I would greatly appreciate to know what you have to say on this topic. 1. The Rebbe was a descendent of the Maharal from Prague, who was known as a descendent from David Hamelech. 2. The Rebbe learned Torah “like David his father”. The Rebbe’s father z”l was a Rav in the second largest city in Ukraine, who was also a Mekubal and also authored sforim with great Torah depth. 3. The Rebbe was at the forefront to begin the Tshuvah movement. 4. The Rebbe “fought the wars” of Completeness of Torah - by founding Batei Chabad throughout the world; encouraging the Chabad Yeshivot to publish new insights in Torah every number of months; by publishing the largest number of sforim ever by a single person which include great depth and cover all areas of Torah; Completeness of the Jewish nation – The Rebbe was the one who fought against the warped law of “Mi Yehudi”; Completeness of Eretz Yisrael - The Rebbe was the one who begged and warned not to give back even one “foot breath” of Eretz Yisrael. 5. The Rebbe himself strengthened the community when they sang for him “Yechi Adoneinu Moreinu V’Rabeinu Melech Hamoshiach L’olam Va’ed”. 6. When they came to the Baba Sali z”l and asked him whether the Rebbe from Lubavitch is the Moshiach, the Baba Sali stood up and said: “Nu, everything is fitting for him”. 7. The Rebbe called the Beit Knesset in his house at 770 – “Beit Moshiach”! Thank you for your time to answer this question.

Reasons to Prohibit Intermarriage
I am writing to inquire if Orthodox Jewish law or precedent supports my parent’s position. Here they are. 1. Their last will and testament states to marry a non Jew is to entirely forfeit my inheritance. 2. To marry outside the faith would be a violation of the social-religious contracts and to commit social suicide where I would be more or less disowned as a social pariah. 3. They and my Orthodox siblings would refuse on any grounds to meet a non Jewish partner or any offspring resulting from this union, i.e. my patent’s grandchildren. I am certain they are committed to preserving legacy etc but my query here is if this mindset and retributive moves are common to Jewish law and custom. In other words, is this inherent to the doctrine and worldview of Judaism or are their decisions a net result of the senility of agining, bankrupt morality, a reactionary mindset from Jewish oppression, generational identity as survivors, or are these conventions strictly the result of centuries of religious and ideological conviction. Thank you for an honest and straightforward response. The religious mindset truly leaves outsiders baffled and mystified and it would useful to know if there is a religious ideology behind their motives or something else. Asher

Putting on Tefillin on top of a ponytail
Question: I was in the airport and I saw Shlichei Chabad put Tefillin on someone with a big ponytail. When he put the Tefillin on him, the Kesher of the Tefillin was on top of the ponytail. Did he even fulfil the mitzvah of Tefillin at all, isn’t that a chatzitza? out of curiosity is there a problem of Lo Yilbash, that he looks like a woman with growing a ponytail?
Is it Ok for a non-Jew not to Convert?
I'm reviewing, learning about the Jewish religion from a "Christian" background with the purpose of better understanding. I recently learned the Nimrod, tammaz, (I think thats the correct spelling) and it upset me and made me question just what I was actually believing. The Torah and related information from Rabbi videos has expand my knowledge and understand exponentially. It really has helped me grow. But I just came across a reference to the Sanhedrin 59a in the comments section of what basically was a video discouraging conversation to judism. It also reference the "Rambam" as discouraging it and saying we we're like Kohen Gadol offering profane fire to G_D. I really don't have a good way to verify this or even check if I understood it correctly. I humbly ask if you can clarify this.

Questions about Moshiach
1. Could MBD come on a "lower" level because the Jewish people fall short of what Hashem expects? One Moshiach coming as Azkhenazi or Sephardic or Chabad or Breslov or Kurdish or... this can cause envy in the other "groups", almost the reason for the destruction of the Temple. the question is: could he come as Ben Noach or "non-religious" Jews at first? obviously becoming later and gradually acquiring much knowledge. Even because he also comes to unite the whole world and not only the Jewish people. Even if unprovable, this can not be possible? It would be a good fit for him to come upon a donkey (after mastering your yetzer hara). Besides a shrewd way of God to hide it in a klipa noga (as Moses in Mizraim). 2. If you will allow me: one last question. if he is humble like Moshe then he may not know that he is MBD, correct? or is he necessarily self-conscious of his anointing? Thank you very much. HaShem bless you.

Ashkenazi or Sephardi Selichot?
I became religious a year ago. My first acquaintance with praying in a synagogue was in a Chabad synagogue, with the Tehillat Hashem prayerbook. I got attached to this prayer version and still pray with it today. But I would like to say Selichot like the Sephardim do. What should I do?
