How can I face G-d after I sinned so much?
How can I face G-d after I have sinned so much during the year? Some sins were unintentional but many were intentional. Last year I confessed, showed regret, promised to improve, and I didn’t keep any of it. I was chutzpadik to my parents, transgressed Shabbat, looked at forbidden things, dressed improperly and now how can I ask for a good year, for love, a good mate, success in my studies, health, a good livelihood? I am too embarrassed to promise to improve when I know it will probably end up like last year’s promises. I love G-d but I have an evil inclination that is stronger than me.

The verdict on Rosh Hashana
It’s well known that a person’s livelihood is decreed on Rosh Hashana for the following year. If so, what’s the point of praying for a livelihood throughout the year after the decree was decided and sealed? If a person needs more money, how will prayer help because he can’t change his verdict?
A G-d-fearing prayer leader
I read that it’s important for the prayer leader to be a G-d-fearing Jew. I have a modern Orthodox synagogue close to my house and I’m not sure whether I should pray there for Rosh Hashana. On one hand, this community is less observant, but on the other hand, we don’t know who is a real G-d-fearing person, not in the modern Orthodox community and not in the chareidi community. I don’t even know who the prayer leader will be. Should I go to a chareidi synagogue or continue going to the modern synagogue near my home which is far more convenient for me?
