Length of days

Why is it that people in the torah lived longer than people usually live today?
Thank you!

To the Questioner,

The Ohr Hachaim answers that in previous generations Hashem gave them more tikunim (things to "correct") in the span of their life. Therefore they lived the amount of days and years that they needed to, in order to do the corrections that were expected of them.

We also live the amount of days and years that are needed for us to do the corrections that are expected of us; but since they are less, we complete our stay in this world earlier than in the first generations.
