What are the virtues of the Tikkun Haklali?
Question
What are the virtues of the Tikkun Haklali? Are there verses that indicate redemption in the Song of Songs? When will the redemption come? This year? Next year?
Answer
Hello and blessings
A. According to what is well-known and published in all the holy books, reciting Tehillim (Psalms) with intention and humility has great power for atonement of sins and to avert various calamities and evils from the one who recites and from his household and family, to open locked iron gates, and to proclaim freedom to prisoners.
The Talmud explains that King David prayed that everyone who says the Tehillim that he would say should be considered by Hashem as the most important thing, and of course he was answered in his prayer.
Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, zt"l, arranged ten chapters from the entire book which, in his opinion, are more meritorious and include more than the other chapters, and this is what he called the 'Tikkun Haklali'.
It should be noted that before Rabbi Nachman and also after him, there were many great ones of Israel who chose different and unique chapters from the Book of Tehillim and established them to be recited each day as a remedy for various matters; each one according to his order, each one according to his taste, and even Rabbi Nachman, who transmitted the ten chapters, began to reveal a bit of the interpretation of these unique chapters, but did not have time to reveal everything before he passed from this world.
B. The entire Book of the Song of Songs is a song of longing from the Jewish people seeking to witness the Divine Presence in the world to be at the time of redemption on a level as it was at the Exodus from Egypt and the Giving of the Torah.
C. I do not know. I will wait for him every day to come.
Best of luck - Menashe Israel
