Question

Shalom, why is Tikkun Chatzot not recited on Passover Chol Hamoed while, in contrast, Tikkun Leah is recited on Sukkot Chol Hamoed?

Answer

Happy Holidays,

Indeed, this is what the Ben Ish Chai wrote (Year 1, Parshat Vayishlach, Paragraph 7) that Tikkun Leah is not recited on Passover Chol Hamoed, but it is recited on Sukkot Chol Hamoed. This is also mentioned in Kaf HaChaim (Siman 1, Paragraph 13), and they did not explain the reason for this distinction, though it seems that the difference is based on the mystical approach.

Blessings,

Hillel Meirs
