A Person Holds a Grudge Against Me
Question
Hello, esteemed Rabbi. What can I do if a person is holding a grudge against me? I am aware of this and have tried to appease him and ask for forgiveness several times, genuinely showing my intentions and truly regretting my actions, but the person stubbornly does not forgive and seems to intentionally want to hold a grudge so that I know he is angry with me. What else can I do so that he will not hold a grudge against me and to annul this? I feel that this is affecting me in my livelihood, in finding a job, in dating, etc. This person is my former partner.
Answer
Hello and blessings, If despite your requests for forgiveness and repairing the damage done to him, he insists on not forgiving, then you no longer have any liability for his unjust grudge and you do not need to ask for forgiveness any longer. Best regards, Benjamin Shmueli
