Tovel dishes in rainwater

28.02.19

Question

today it rained a lot. I have a washing basket full of rain water on my mirpeset. can i toval my new wine glasses in it?

Answer

To the Questioner,

The amount of water required for a mikva to be kosher for tevilat kelim is 87.6 liquid gallons (and according to the Chazon Ish 151 liqiuid gallons).

Since your washing basket probably does not include this amount, make sure Not to use it for your toveling of utensils.

With Blessings,
Rav Nachum
