Days When Tzidduk HaDin Is Not Recited

Halachic Guidelines for Saying Tzidduk HaDin

Question

On which days is Tzidduk HaDin not recited?

Thank you.

Answer

Greetings,

Tzidduk HaDin is not recited on all the days when Tachanun is not said.

Sources: This is the opinion of the Rema in Yoreh De'ah (Siman 345, Se'if 6). Indeed, the Shulchan Aruch there writes that Tzidduk HaDin is said even on Chol HaMoed and the second day of Yom Tov. However, on the first day of Yom Tov, since there is no engagement with the deceased, it is not said. The Sefer Chazon Ovadia, Aveilus Part 1 (page 91), citing the later authorities, notes that the custom now, even among the Sephardim, follows the Rema's position.
