Tuna and Cheese

AA

Question

Hello and blessings, is it permissible to eat cheese and tuna together (for example, on a pizza)? If not, why? Thank you very much.

Answer

Greetings and blessings. Maran Rabbi Ovadia Yosef concludes the ruling on this matter as follows: "In summary, one should refrain from eating fish with milk or cheese due to a concern of danger. However, those who customarily eat fish with butter may continue their practice. Ashkenazim generally are lenient in this regards and have sources to support their position. It is clear and straightforward." I add that there are many Ashkenazim who are stringent as well and do not eat fish with milk or cheese. Wishing you success, Menashe Israel.
