AA

Question

Hello honorable Rabbi, I wanted to ask: I made dough from one kilogram of flour, and I know that to perform the separation of challah you need one and a half kilograms (1.5 kg). I only made dough from one kilogram; do I need to separate challah or not? Please answer me urgently, thank you.

Answer

Greetings and blessings, One should not separate challah from less than 1.2 kilograms of dough. The blessing over the separation is recited only when the amount of flour exceeds 1.666 kilograms. Blessings, Binyamin Shmueli.
