Is It Permissible to Celebrate a Birthday Before Its Actual Date?

Hello Rabbi, my mother was born on Purim, the 14th of Adar. We would like to celebrate her birthday party a week earlier. We have heard that it is not recommended to celebrate a birthday before its proper time. Is there any truth to this? Thank you in advance.
