Tachanun with a groom

AA

Question

Is Tachanun recited at Shacharit when a groom on his wedding day is present in the prayer service, or only at Mincha?

Answer

Shalom u'vracha

Tachanun is not recited when the groom is present, both at Shacharit and at Mincha, provided that the chuppah is before sunset.

The custom in some communities, and the ruling in Yalkut Yosef, is to recite Tachanun at Shacharit even if the chuppah will take place before sunset.

With blessings,

Binyamin Shmueli
