Should a son recite Birkat HaOrach at his parents' home?

AA

Question

Shalom, honorable Rabbi,

I wanted to ask about Birkat HaOrach at my mother’s home. I have not lived there for more than a year, and I have my own home - should I recite it or not?

Thank you for your help

Answer

Shalom and blessings,

You should recite Birkat HaOrach, and even one who lives with his parents should recite Birkat HaOrach.

Sources: See Magen Avraham (section רא, small subsection ב), and what is cited regarding this in the book Halacha Berura (there, section 5).

With blessings,

Hillel Meirs
