Is It Permissible to Say Tikun HaKlali at Night?

AA

Question

Hello Rabbi, I wanted to ask about reciting Tikun HaKlali at night, as I do not always manage to read it during the day, so I read it at night. Does this count for the same day that I am reading it, or for the next day since it is already night and the sun has set?

Answer

Dear,

1. It is permissible to say Tikun HaKlali at night; however, according to Kabbalah, it is preferable to avoid saying Psalms (and Tikun HaKlali is composed of ten chapters of Psalms) from nightfall until midnight - see here.

2. The Tikun HaKlali that you say at night is considered the Tikun HaKlali for the following day.

With blessings,

Hillel Meirs
