Question
Hello, esteemed Rabbi,
Happy Chanukah!!
I am a mother of a daughter, and I strive to pray Shacharit, but sometimes I do not manage to say Hallel.
My question is - am I allowed to say the "Aleinu" during the Shacharit prayer, and if I manage, can I say Hallel afterwards for the holiday of Chanukah??
This question also pertains to Musaf on Shabbat... sometimes I do not manage.
Thank you
Shira
Answer
Shalom,
If you are not able to finish, you may say Hallel and also pray Musaf until sunset.
Sources: Regarding Hallel, see Biur Halacha (Orach Chaim 682:2, s.v. Vakorin). And regarding Musaf, see Shulchan Aruch (Orach Chaim 485:1).
Happy Chanukah,
Hallel Meirs
