If I did not sleep the entire night, do I need to say "Modeh Ani" or skip it?

Question

If I did not sleep the entire night... and I did not plan this, in the morning when I put on tefillin, do I need to say "Modeh Ani" or do I skip it? Please help me with this question, as it is troubling to me...

Answer

Shalom u'vracha

There is no need to say "Modeh Ani." One does not say the blessing for washing hands, and all other morning blessings are said.
