Question
Hello,
How do we know if the recipe is a type of Mezonot or Hamotzi
For 1 kg of flour, is it enough to have one egg and an addition of 1/4 cup of sugar and oil?
Is it sufficient to have 1/4 cup of sugar and oil without an egg?
The recipe for Hamotzi is: 1/4 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of oil, 2.5 cups of water, 1 tablespoon of salt.
Bread - 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of salt, 2+ cups of water.
Buns - 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1/2 cup of oil, 3 cups of water.
Sweet buns - 3/4 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon, 1 egg, 1/2 cup of oil, 2-3 cups of water.
1/4 = 4 tablespoons.
Thank you very much.
Answer
Hello and blessings
If the dough feels sweet, it is considered Mezonot for those of Sephardic descent.
