Is it Permissible to Purchase New Clothing During the Three Weeks?
Question
Is it permissible to purchase new clothing today, the 26th of Tammuz, during the Three Weeks? I was told that it is allowed to wear it so it may get a little dirty or to wear it without reciting a blessing on it right now...

It is permissible to purchase new clothing during the Three Weeks until the beginning of the month of Av. However, it is advisable to be stringent and refrain from purchasing important clothing for which one would need to recite the blessing of *shehechiyanu*. Clothing for which one does not recite the *shehechiyanu* blessing does not require strictness (see Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim 551:17).
