God Isn’t Too Big for the Details: Infinity, Vulnerability, and a Relationship Built on Mitzvot

Rabbi Manis Friedman

If God is infinite, can He really care about “small” things, like a tiny mitzvah, a private struggle, or the details of a daily life? This talk flips that question on its head: the very fact that God is unlimited means that nothing is too minor to matter. Judaism isn’t about using religion to get something, but about being needed for a relationship. Mitzvot aren’t conditions or transactions — they are points of closeness, the “romantic” language of connection, where even the smallest details become sacred.
