Why does Parashat Nitzavim come immediately after the frightening curses of Ki Tavo? Moshe offers the Jewish people a powerful message of reassurance: despite everything they have endured and every mistake they have made, they are still standing before Hashem. Just as darkness eventually gives way to light, difficult times do not mean that Hashem has abandoned us. Nitzavim reminds us of the enduring covenant between Hashem and the Jewish people and that, before Him, every Jew has value.
