Boston Doctor Reveals: The 2 Most Harmful Foods for Your Brain

Think Your Memory Is Fading “Just Because”? Think Again. New Harvard Research Reveals Why Some Minds Stay Sharp With Age While Others Don’t

Think your memory is fading “just because”? Think again. A Boston doctor has spent recent years studying brain health and is presenting new research from Harvard University that reveals why some people remain sharp well into old age, while others struggle to recall names, dates, or even what was said at yesterday’s Torah study.

Dr. George Kranthisis explains, “Memory problems are often caused by the food you eat—or don’t eat. Your brain needs fuel to create new brain cells, retain information, and focus on tasks. And where does that fuel come from? From the food you consume.”

He adds that dramatic changes in modern dietary habits mean that “most of us are not getting the nutrients our brains need, and this deficiency can easily lead to brain fog, forgetfulness, or worse.”

After extensive research, Dr. K—as he prefers to be called—developed a simple protocol aimed at combating memory loss at its root. “People constantly tell me, ‘I feel much smarter and sharper,’ and even their families notice the change,” he says.

So what are the two worst foods for brain health that should be avoided at all costs?

First are foods containing trans fats, such as margarine. Research shows that these fats not only cause irreversible damage to the brain but also contribute to heart disease, vascular problems, and dementia.

The second category includes junk food of all kinds: alcoholic beverages, white sugar and white flour and their products, fried foods, and heavily processed high-fat foods.
