The Miracle Behind What We Call Nature
What drives all the particles in the universe with such precision and consistency? What sustains the laws of nature at this very moment and keeps the universe in motion?

The Lesson of the Glass of Water
To understand how, picture a glass filled with water. What gives the water its shape? The answer is simple: the glass it is in. And what would happen if the glass suddenly disappeared? The water would immediately spill onto the floor and lose its shape.
From this example, we learn that to maintain a shape, a constant limiting factor is required. If the limiting factor disappears, the limitation vanishes.
Once this simple principle is understood, a scientific question arises: Why does nature continue to maintain its form?
The Illusion of Stability
Many look at the world and feel it is strong and stable, not moving or changing. Even a small stone seems solid and stable to us. Why would a stone need a limiting factor?
Science has discovered that this stability is merely an illusion. All the materials we see around us are actually made up of very tiny particles that do not touch each other at all. They float in empty space, moving non-stop at an unimaginable speed. In their calculated and consistent movements, the particles create atoms and molecules. However, if they were to stop moving for even a moment, everything we see around us—trees, buildings, stones, ground, water, sky, the world, the moon, the sun, and all the stars—would disintegrate and vanish.
Imagine that the chair you are sitting on, the ground you are standing on, and even your own body are not truly solid and stable as they seem, but rather tiny points moving at incredible speed, creating through their motion everything that can be seen and touched.
The Force Behind Creation
So who controls all this? What drives all the particles in the universe with such precision and consistency? What is the factor maintaining the laws of nature right now and continuing to operate the universe?
Science does not know the answer. Scientists have named these mysterious forces of motion with terms like “nuclear force” and “gravity.”
Imagine a miracle like the splitting of the Sea of Reeds lasting for thousands of years without ceasing. Scientists would undoubtedly refer to it with an interesting name, perhaps “the force of eternal splitting,” and teach it in universities as a completely natural phenomenon. We have become so accustomed to the activity of nature that we mistakenly view it as ordinary.
Nature as Evidence of Hashem
Professor David Weiss, a doctor and cancer researcher, stated in an interview: “To explain not only the creation of the world but also the fact that this atom, this molecule, exists, and instead of exploding, it exists in an orderly manner—I must assume the existence of the great architect” (Haaretz Supplement, July 26, 1996).
Without Hashem’s constant supervision, nothing would compel the continued existence and laws found in nature. Everything would immediately revert to chaos, just like water falling to the floor and losing its shape without the glass that holds it. In this way, nature serves as spiritual evidence of Hashem’s existence.
