Iran responds to Trump’s 48-hour ultimatum, threatens strikes on the "Zionist entity’s" energy and IT infrastructure
President Donald Trump gave Iran 48 hours to open the Strait of Hormuz to shipping or face strikes inside Iran. The Revolutionary Guards responded: "The terrorist president’s behavior undermines global security."

This followed the president’s statement last night that he would strike energy infrastructure in Iran if the Strait of Hormuz is not opened to ship traffic within 48 hours.
A spokesman for Iran’s General Staff declared that "The terrorist U.S. president, through his aggressive conduct and his contribution to undermining global security, threatened that if Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian nuclear facilities would be attacked. We have emphasized time and again that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed only to enemies and harmful traffic and has not been completely closed to date, and it remains under our wise control, while non-harmful transit continues according to special procedures that ensure our security and our interests".
"If the American threats against Iranian facilities are carried out, the following punitive steps will be taken immediately, including a full closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which will not be reopened until our damaged facilities are restored; large-scale damage to all power stations and the energy and information-technology infrastructure belonging to the Zionist entity; complete destruction of all similar companies in the region in which the Americans hold shares; and treating power stations in regional countries that host American bases as legitimate targets".
The Revolutionary Guards’ spokesman added:"Everything is now ready to embark on a great jihad whose goal is the complete destruction of all American economic interests in the West Asia region. We were not the ones who started the war, and we are not the ones to start it now, but if the enemy causes damage to our facilities, we will take whatever is required to defend the country and the interests of our people, and an unstoppable path will begin toward destroying the aforementioned targets, and nothing will be able to disrupt the continuation of our actions against the energy, oil, and industrial infrastructure of the United States and its allies in the region".
As a reminder, last night Trump issued an ultimatum to Iran: "If Iran does not fully, without threat, open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours from this exact moment, the U.S. will strike its various power stations and destroy them, starting with the largest one!".
