“I Dreamed the October 7 Massacre Five Days Before It Happened”

A chilling firsthand account of a dream that seemed to foresee the October 7 massacre, raising powerful questions about intuition, faith, and the mysteries of the soul.

Sapir Cohen, a freed hostage, told journalist Yinon Magal that in the six months leading up to the massacre, she experienced constant and overwhelming existential anxiety. Elkana Cohen, an officer in the Commando Brigade, shared with Hidabroot that on the night of the attack, his wife woke in panic after dreaming that hundreds of terrorists were chasing them.

These accounts raise a striking question. Can the soul sense what is about to happen? Is there a deeper spiritual layer within us that connects to what lies beyond? Each person must consider this for themselves.

A Dream Days Before the Attack

Chaim Moshe, a well known outreach figure and founder of the Great Synagogue Tehilat Aviv in Ramat Aviv, where Rabbi Zamir Cohen regularly delivers a Thursday class, interviewed his friend Moti Druckman about a year ago. Druckman chose to share an experience that he says has no natural explanation.

“On October 2, 2023, five days before the massacre on Simchat Torah, I dreamed everything that later happened on October 7. In the dream, I saw that we were unprepared, that Hamas had heavy weapons, and that they were highly trained,” Druckman recalled.

When asked how this account could be verified, Druckman presented a message he had sent to a friend on that same day, describing the dream in detail. The message clearly shows the date and appears authentic, supported by the platform’s built in security features.

In the message, dated October 2, 2023, he wrote: “I had a terrifying nightmare. An invasion. Not a regular war, but a brutal massacre. They are killing us, and they are highly skilled, not ordinary terrorists. The police and Border Police cannot stop them. They are breaking into homes with precision and force, heavily armed and well trained.”

Dreams and Spiritual Insight

While most dreams reflect a person’s thoughts and experiences, Jewish sources describe a deeper dimension to certain dreams. The Gemara teaches that “a dream is one sixtieth of prophecy” in Tractate Berakhot.

The Zohar explains that during sleep, the soul ascends to higher spiritual realms, each person according to their level. In those realms, glimpses of future events can be revealed before the soul returns to the body.

Testimonies That Raise Questions

Rotem Achihon, a writer and host at Kan, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, conducted an investigation into similar accounts. She gathered testimonies from individuals who reported dreams or strong feelings that something terrible was approaching in the days before the attack.

Some documented their experiences in writing or on video before the events unfolded.

Her conclusion is cautious but thought provoking. “What can we learn from this? I do not know. It requires deeper research. But one thing is clear. There are aspects of reality that we still cannot fully explain.”

These stories do not offer simple answers. But they open the door to a deeper question about the connection between the soul, intuition, and the unseen layers of existence.
