As part of the commemorations, prominent landmarks in Jerusalem and the Knesset were illuminated in the colors of the American flag.
In Jerusalem, the municipality lit up the walls of the Old City and the Chords Bridge in red, white, and blue, accompanied by the American flag. Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion said:
"Jerusalem is proud to mark the 250th Independence Day of the United States, one of the State of Israel's closest and most important friends.
This tribute reflects our deep appreciation for the enduring partnership between our two nations, founded upon the shared values of freedom and democracy. We wish the American people a happy Independence Day and look forward to further strengthening the ties between Jerusalem and our great friend, the United States."
The Knesset also held a special tribute in honor of the United States' 250th anniversary. The façade of the Knesset building was illuminated in blue, red, and white. Throughout the past week, visitors entering the Knesset were able to view displays featuring photographs and video footage documenting visits by U.S. presidents over the years, alongside visits by Speakers of the House of Representatives and other distinguished American leaders.
Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana also extended his congratulations to the American people:
"Today, the free world marks a truly historic milestone: the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. In one of the greatest achievements in human history, America's Founding Fathers established the first great modern republic, a beacon of liberty that continues to guide humanity toward the values of freedom and human dignity.
On behalf of the Knesset and the people of Israel, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the American people. I also wish to express our gratitude to the American leadership for its leadership and for the steadfast alliance between the United States and Israel. Happy Independence Day, United States of America!"
