According to the report, Israel has not yet given final approval for the relocation. However, the IDF has already begun clearing unexploded ordnance and preparing the ground around the so called "Emirates Neighborhood" in southern Gaza.
The Peace Council stated that while both it and Israel continue to view the disarmament of Hamas as the primary objective, the goal is not to wait for the terrorist organization to comply. Instead, the plan is to begin relocating some residents to the area near the Yellow Line ahead of the coming winter.
A source involved in the initiative said, "The Peace Council is preparing to launch the project. It is awaiting final approvals from Israel, along with the completion of internal preparations by the council."
The source also confirmed that construction has begun on a base in southern Gaza that is expected to accommodate 500 to 1,000 members of the ISF multinational force, which is intended to provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza's residents while also serving as a security force.
In recent months, the Peace Council and international mediators have reportedly held talks with Hamas regarding the group's disarmament. However, Hamas has continued to reject those demands.
