Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the drone threat Sunday afternoon, as seen in southern Lebanon, as well as amid concerns being examined that Hamas terrorists in Gaza may begin using them.

According to Netanyahu, "The drone threat is a global threat that is changing the battlefield. We are among the world’s most advanced in dealing with it, but we must not stop for even a moment. A drone can be no less deadly than an F-35 aircraft. This is a global problem that they are now trying to introduce in Gaza. My directive to the security establishment is to do everything against this deadly weapon: strike the drones, the operators, and the launch sites, and do everything to protect Israel’s citizens."

Meanwhile, Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz held a situation assessment this evening on the threat of drones, balloons, and kites being launched from the Gaza Strip toward Israel. The discussion was attended by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, the head of the National Security Council, and senior IDF officials.

Netanyahu’s office said: "Israel warns Hamas that if launches toward Israel do not stop immediately, the IDF will act to intensify operations against those responsible for the launches and will evacuate residents from areas from which kites, drones, and balloons are launched. The prime minister made clear that we will not return to the reality that existed before October 7. Israel will not allow the Hamas terrorist organization, or any other entity in the Gaza Strip, to once again threaten our communities and undermine our citizens’ sense of security."
