U.S. President Donald Trump was asked overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, Israel time, whether additional strikes against Iran could take place following the November 3 midterm elections. His response was brief: “Anything is possible.”

Speaking to reporters, Trump said: “I think we're in a very good position with Iran. The question is when I want to end this. They want to reach a deal, but they like to drag things out.”

U.S. Reportedly Preparing for Possible Military Operation

U.S. media reports indicate that the Trump administration has urged several Arab Gulf states to prepare for a potential “short and intense” military operation following the November 3 midterm elections.

According to The Wall Street Journal, diplomatic and military discussions are among several indications that Washington and Jerusalem are preparing for possible high-intensity military action against Tehran, aimed at pressuring Iran into negotiations.

The newspaper emphasized that Trump has not yet made a final decision on whether to proceed with the operation, although he is reportedly leaning toward supporting a large-scale attack.

IAEA Reports No Signs of Reconstruction at Iranian Nuclear Sites

Meanwhile, Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told the United Nations Security Council that the agency has detected no signs that Iran is attempting to rebuild nuclear facilities previously targeted by the United States and Israel.

Grossi stressed, however, that Iran continues to deny IAEA inspectors access to the bombed facilities. He called on Tehran to allow inspectors unrestricted access to all its nuclear sites.

“Since June 2025, we have not detected any reconstruction activity at the damaged facilities,” Grossi said.

Qatar Presents Iran With Preliminary U.S. Agreement Proposal

Separately, Reuters reported that Qatari officials have presented Iran with a draft proposal for an initial agreement with the United States.

The proposal reportedly includes a series of confidence-building measures, including an unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran as a demonstration of goodwill and a willingness to reach an agreement.

Iranian officials have reportedly been asked to respond to the proposal by the end of the week.
