High Alert in Towns Around Gaza

Israel spends money on psychological treatments for the Arab terrorists that murdered Israelis to help cure the ‘trauma’ of the murder, according to Dr. Nimrod Garisero who is a therapist in the Israeli Prison Service in an interview with Reshet B television. I hope people weren’t traumatized by hearing that. They may also need therapy but the government won’t subsidize it.

An Arab teen stone thrower from East Jerusalem was fined 20,000 shekel or 200 days imprisonment to give the message of deterrence even to minors. (Adult stone throwers are normally jailed without the choice of paying a fine.) This decision was made at the Peace Juvenile Court in Jerusalem.

Towns near Gaza still on high alert for fear of a potential Islamic Jihad terror attack retaliating for losing their men in a terror tunnel blown up last week. The towns and settlements in the area have direct access to the IDF and get daily updates from them. People are asked to stay away from the border fence and 3 tourist attractions in the area were shut down meanwhile. The Ramat Elhanan Givat Shmuel Pedestrian Bridge was repaired last night: The bridge was damaged when a truck with a crane knocked off a section of the bridge killing the driver Elihai Tederi. Though the repair was to take up to a half year the Netivei Yisrael highway authority expedited the repair because pedestrians were crossing the highway endangering themselves and the drivers on highway 4 the ‘Gaheh Highway’.

A 106 year old Greek woman and her late husband were recognized and awarded the title “Righteous Among the Nations” for saving a family of 5 during World War II risking their life during the Nazi occupation of Greece. Vasilici Atridis and her late husband were honored in a ceremony in Salonika, Greece in the Anatoly School Auditorium with the Israeli Ambassador to Greece, Irit Ben-Abba, the school president, the president of the Jewish Community, diplomats and junior high school students.
