What is the blessing for mashed potatoes?

Please, if possible, receive an answer regarding what blessing is said for mashed potatoes? Thank you very much.

According to the custom of Sephardim, one says the blessing of Borei Peri Ha'adamah (Creator of the fruit of the ground) on mashed potatoes (see Yabia Omer Part 7, Orach Chaim 29, and Hazon Ovadia, Berachot p. 132).
According to the custom of Ashkenazim, if the potatoes are finely mashed in a blender, one says Shehakol (see VeZot HaBeracha p. 371).
