Celebrating a Birthday During the Three Weeks
Question
Hello, we want to celebrate my son's birthday with a party for his friends from kindergarten. Is it permissible to celebrate during the three weeks leading up to Tisha B'Av? I mean, not during the ten days before Tisha B'Av, when it is prohibited, but during the days from the 17th of Tammuz until the 1st of Av?? Thank you very much

Hello,
You may celebrate and hold a birthday party for your son during these days with his friends, but music should not be played, and dancing should not be held at the party (although it is permissible to sing or play vocal music).
