What is the Custom of Rosh Hashanah According to the Sephardic Tradition?

AA

Question

In the merit of Heaven. Greetings, esteemed Rabbi, I am preparing the Seder for Rosh Hashanah. I would like to know which symbols should be on the table, according to the Sephardic custom? When I opened the special prayer book for Rosh Hashanah, I understood that there are two different orders for the night of Rosh Hashanah; some follow this order and some follow that. I will list the symbols that are written and you tell me what I should do according to the Sephardic custom. Dates, black-eyed peas, leeks, beets, pomegranate, sweet pomegranate, boiled apple with sugar, head of a ram. This is one order. Now the second order that is practiced: boiled apple with sugar, leeks, beets, dates, pomegranate, fish, head of a ram. What is the correct custom to follow according to the Mizrachi/Sephardic traditions? Thank you, Iv.

Answer

Greetings and blessings,

The first order is the order for the evening of Rosh Hashanah, according to the customs of the Sephardim. (Please note, I corrected in the question the order of the symbols according to their order of eating).

Wishing you a good and blessed year,
Menashe Ben Porat
