Laws of Conjugal Relations on Rosh Hashanah
Question
Hello esteemed Rabbi, I would like to ask about conjugal relations on the Day of Judgment? Is it permitted? Is there a place to be pious and prefer to forgo this? What is allowed and what is prohibited; can the Rabbi elaborate? Also, could you add what is customary from the perspective of piety? Thank you very much
Answer
Greetings,
One should not engage in conjugal relations on both nights of Rosh Hashanah, unless it is the night of immersion. However, if one fears that they may become overly tempted, it is permissible to be lenient; yet, one should not be careless but should behave with holiness and purity, and return to immerse in the morning.
