Is the name Yair good for a boy?
Question
We had a baby boy, and we are thinking of naming him Yair. Is this a good name for mother Hila Oshrit and father Yitzhak? Thank you very much.

The name "Yair" is good for a boy, and it is already mentioned in the Book of Numbers (chapter 32, verse 41) and in the Book of Esther (chapter 2, verse 5). We also find a Tanna by the name of Rabbi Pinchas ben Yair. This name was given to one of the great rabbis of the generations more than 300 years ago, Rabbi Yair Chaim Bacharach, of blessed memory, the author of the book "Chut HaYair."
