Question

Hello, it is known that one should not touch the body before morning hand washing. Is it permissible to go to the restroom before washing hands? Thank you

Answer

Hello,

According to the letter of the law, it is permissible to relieve oneself before washing hands in the morning, and one should be careful not to touch the openings of the body. Nonetheless, if there is no urgent need to go, it is advisable to be strict and wash hands before using the restroom without reciting a blessing, and after exiting, to wash hands again and recite the blessing for hand washing and Asher Yatzar.
