Is it Permitted to Eat Meat on Shabbat During the Nine Days?

AA

Question

Hello esteemed rabbi,

Is it permitted to eat meat on Shabbat during the Nine Days? Is there a difference between Ashkenazic and Sephardic customs?

Thank you very much

Answer

Hello,

According to all customs, it is permitted to eat meat on the Shabbat that falls within the Nine Days. This allowance applies even on Tisha B'Av if it falls on Shabbat, and even during the Seudat Hamafseket of that Shabbat.

Sources: Shulchan Aruch (Orach Chaim 551:10).

Shabbat Shalom,

Hillel Meirs
