Confession for Sin

AA

Question

Recently, I have been strengthening my observance, putting on tefillin, reciting the Shema before bed, and listening to many lectures on your site. Two days ago, something terrible happened; suddenly, I had a thought—or something like it—that I don't know how to describe, a negative thought about Hashem. Since then, it hasn't left me; it feels as if my yetzer hara (evil inclination) is trying to enter me. I read Tikkun Haklali, and I want to say a confession, but I don't know the exact wording and I haven't found it anywhere. Please help me.

Answer

Hello and blessings,

A. An involuntary thought does not constitute a sin. You just need to say verbally that you nullify any thought you have that is against the will of the Creator.

"אני מבטל כל מחשבה שיש לי שהיא נגד רצון הבורא."

B. Confession is to say: Master of the Universe, I have sinned, I have acted perversely, and I have committed transgressions before You regarding this specific sin, please forgive me, pardon me, and absolve me of all my iniquities, transgressions, and sins, and help me not to fall into sin again.

ריבונו של עולם חטאתי עוותי ופשעתי לפניך בחטא "פלוני" אנא מחל סלח" "ומחול לי על כל עוונתי פשעי וחטאי ועזור לי שלא ליפול בחטאים עוד
