Forgot to Wash Hands and Bless on the Bread, Should I Recite Birkat Hamazon?

AA

Question

What is the halachic stance regarding bread if I forgot, Heaven forbid, to wash and bless? Should I at least recite the final blessing? Thank you

Answer

Greetings,

Even if you did not wash your hands and did not bless on the bread, you still have a complete obligation to recite Birkat Hamazon.

Sources: This is clear. Also see Mishnah Berurah (Orach Chaim 174:3).

Best regards,

Hillel Meirs
