Regarding the permissibility of reading Shir Hashirim at night

AA

Question

Shalom Rav, I know that reading Shir Hashirim for 40 days is a segulah for finding a match. I would like to ask—can the chapters be read during the evening and night of that day? Thank you

Answer

Shalom Rav,

A. A day begins at night and ends at the conclusion of the following day.

B. It is permissible to read Shir Hashirim at night, though according to Kabbalah, it is preferable to read during the day (see in detail in responsa Yabia Omer part 6, section Orach Chaim, Siman 30).

Best wishes,

Hillel Meirs
