Who Built the Pyramids in Egypt?
Question
I wanted to know, who built the pyramids in Egypt? I was confronted with this question, and I didn’t know how to respond.
Answer
Hello and greetings,
First, it is important to correct a common misconception. The Jews did not build the pyramids in Egypt. This is explicitly stated in the Torah, where it mentions that the Jews built the cities known as Pithom and Raamses (Exodus 1:11). These ancient cities were indeed located in Egypt, and they do not contain pyramids.
Researchers believe that the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids in Egypt, but on the other hand, it is also possible that an older civilization built the pyramids, and the Egyptians who migrated to Egypt only used these pyramids as tombs for the pharaohs (the burial chamber occupies less than one percent of the pyramid). What strengthens this claim is the fact that no hieroglyphs or Egyptian inscriptions have been found inside the pyramids. Another strange fact is that out of all the one million hieroglyphs found in ancient Egypt - none describe the construction of a pyramid.
I have heard people suggest the theory that the pyramids were built before the flood, survived the flood, and may even have belonged to an ancient civilization of giants.
Best regards,
