New Clothing for Rosh Hashanah

Greetings and blessings,

It is permitted. It was customary not to wear new clothes on Rosh Hashanah to reflect the awe of the Divine Judgment. However, on the second night of Rosh Hashanah, one may wear new clothes with the intention to recite the Shehecheyanu blessing during Kiddush on the new garment.
