I Dreamed That a Bee Stung Me Twice; What Does This Dream Mean?
Question
To the honorable rabbi,
I dreamed this Rosh Hashanah that a bee stung me twice—exactly the same dream. That is, I slept, dreamed it, then woke up startled, went back to sleep, and dreamed it again. What does this dream mean? Thank you very much.
Answer
Greetings, First, it should be noted that most likely this dream has no significance, as is the case with most dreams in our times. Nevertheless, it is worth mentioning that this question was already asked in the responsa "Torah Lishmah" (section 364) regarding a person who dreamed that bees were stinging him and who was distressed about the dream because he wanted a genuine explanation. The answer given was that the dream was a heavenly warning to that individual because of a sin he committed either due to arrogance or through speech. The dream advises him to make sincere repentance so that he will not require reincarnation, etc. Therefore, the dreamer should examine himself carefully to see to which of these matters—the sin of arrogance or inappropriate speech—he is more liable, endeavor to correct himself, and return to Hashem so that He will have compassion on him. See there for further details. Bsorot Tovot, Hillel Meirs
