Is it permissible to buy new clothes on the 9th of Av?
Question
Dear Rabbi,
I wanted to ask when it is allowed to buy new clothes? Can I do so already tomorrow, on Wednesday after Tisha B'Av, since I need to make a purchase?
Answer
Shalom u'vracha,
It is permissible to buy new clothes immediately after the fast of Tisha B'Av. However, to wear new clothes for which we say the *shehechiyanu* blessing, one should wait until Wednesday night, the end of the 10th of Av.
