Hello dear Rabbi, I wanted to know: Where does the custom of spinning the dreidel come from?

Greetings and blessings,
Since the Greeks decreed that the Children of Israel should not study Torah, the Israeli children would gather secretly to learn Torah. They would station a guard outside, and when the guard warned of the approach of the Greeks, they would bring out a dreidel and play with it. In this way, they concealed their Torah study from the Greeks.
